Bluebird Kazoom Wins INSS For Hot Graber Barn

Bluebird Kazoom

Bluebird Kazoom took flight in the second $68,310 Indiana Sire Stakes (INSS) division for three-year-old trotting fillies to highlight trainer Henry Graber Jr.'s triple on Wednesday, July 15 at Harrah's Hoosier Park.

The favoured filly marched off the gate from post five to beat out Help Cum Laude (Marcus Miller) to the first quarter in :28.1 and led an unchanged field to the half-mile pole in :57.2. Make It Spicy (Trace Tetrick) was the first trotter to move out of line, motoring up the outside from fifth to challenge the leader, and Bluebird Kazoom reached three-quarters in 1:26.1 with Make It Spicy now bringing the heat to her outside. Bluebird Kazoom kicked away from Make It Spicy and Help Cum Laude coming down the stretch and soared to the wire three lengths clear in a lifetime-best 1:53.2. Help Cum Laude held onto second, while Make It Spicy settled for third.

The winning Swan For All-Stella Kemp filly is owned by Hillside Stables, Indiana Stables LLC, Hickory Hollow Stables and Michael Rosenthal. Bluebird Kazoom raised her lifetime earnings to $153,921 and her record to eight-for-10 in her debut season. She paid $3 to win.

The other winners for Graber on the 14-race card were Flirt Dover ($9.80) and Clear And Cool ($8). The trainer is 36-for-214 on the season.

For Dayze powered down the stretch off cover to capture the first INSS division. Away from post five, she eased herself off the wings and found a spot in fourth behind early action while Honeymoon (Trace Tetrick) went forward to lead at the quarter in :27.2 and half in :57.2. Homesweethome (Jordan Ross) bounced to the outside entering the final turn, and For Dayze took that cover as the top two raced side-by-side at three-quarters in 1:26.1. Down the stretch, Homesweethome’s bid fell short, opening the way for For Dayze to glide along the outside and vault by Honeymoon to score by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:53.3. Omg Am I Ok (Kyle Wilfong) charged late for second, while Honeymoon held on for third.

For Dayze, last year's INSS two-year-old filly trot champion, is trained by Roger Welch for owners William De Long and Patrick De Long. The daughter of Swan For All-Southwind Storm is three-for-five this season and nine-for-15 lifetime with $470,499 in earnings. She paid $2.40 to win.

Three-year-old INSS action returns to Hoosier Park on Thursday with a single $95,500 USD contest for male trotters as Dan D Man Can looks to remain perfect in 2026. The 14-race card has a $9,405 carryover in the Early Hoosier High 5. There is also the $10,000 guaranteed Late Pick 4 and a $10,000 guaranteed Late Hoosier High 5 done in partnership with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program.
