Adios My Lindy Romps In Plainridge Feature
Adios My Lindy waved goodbye to her opponents in the $21,127 featured conditioned trot at Plainridge Park on Tuesday, July 14, winning by as many lengths as she pleased.
Adios My Lindy (Brett Beckwith) got away third as Get Outa My Lane (Bruce Ranger) took the field to the quarter in :27.1 and half in :56.1. As the field meandered onto the backstretch, Adios My Lindy moved first-over and took the lead from Get Outa My Lane passing three-quarters in 1:25. Adios My Lindy opened up a three-length lead by the top of the stretch and then bolted home, wrapped up and clear by 6-3/4 lengths in 1:54, which was a new lifetime mark. Get Outa My Lane aas second, followed by Joyous Spirit (Kevin Switzer Jr.).
Adios My Lindy ($2.10), a sophomore daughter of Walner-Adios Lindy, has won three consecutive starts after beginning the year winless in five. She is owned by Kelley Lamont Racing, Go For Glory Stable LLC, Thomas Pontone and VIP Internet Stable LLC and is trained by Paul Kelley. Her career total now stands at five victories from 14 starts. The Massachusetts-bred is eligible to the the $3.2 million (est.) Massachusetts Breeders Stakes at Plainridge Park, starting on Sept. 28.
In the $19,718 mid-level conditioned trot, Sunburnt Silverado (Jay Randall) led at every call, setting fractions of :27.3, :56.4 and 1:25.1. He then rounded the last bend and turned back a challenge from the pocket-sitting Sangria Girl (Mitchell Cushing) to hit the line first by two lengths in a season's best of 1:54.4. Balenciaga (Matt Athearn) was third. Sunburnt Silverado is owned by Michael Casalino Jr. and trained by Rob Harmon. The win price was $14.
Brett Beckwith had a hat trick in the bike on the 11-race card.
Racing will resume at Plainridge on Thursday at 4 p.m. The track will host the Grand Circuit this Sunday, July 19, when the $300,000 USD Spirit of Massachusetts Trot and $150,000 USD Clara Barton Distaff Pace go postward on a special matinee card of racing that will start at 2 p.m.
