T H Boomtown Triumphs In Charlottetown Feature

T H Boomtown

T H Boomtown returned to the winner's circle with a determined stretch rally in the featured conditioned pace on Saturday, July 11 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Driven by Corey MacPherson, T H Boomtown sat in the two-hole before tipping out in the lane to reel in pacesetter Dj Mustang (Adam Merner) and score by a quarter-length in 1:54.4.

Dj Mustang left hard off the gate to immediately strike the lead in the $4,650 feature and cut the fractions of :28, :56.4 and 1:25. T H Boomtown then tracked him down, catching him in the final strides. Hunters Hero (Marc Campbell) closed well for third.

Ron Matheson trains the winning five-year-old son of Captain Crunch-Ally Elizabeth for owners Dr. Don Ling and Wayne MacDougall of Stratford, P.E.I. T H Boomtown has won three of 10 starts on the season and is now 18-for-60 lifetime with $93,791 in earnings. He paid $5.30 to win.

Leading driver Barrieau tripled up on the 11-race program to give him 53 wins on the season at Red Shores Charlottetown, while Marc Campbell had two wins on the day to now sit three wins back at 50 victories in 2026.

Barrieau opened the card with an easy victory behind The Feast ($2.10), who controlled every call to break his maiden by two lengths in 1:59.1 for trainer Trevin Shive. The veteran reinsman added another win in the second race as Cattle Call ($3.80) delivered a front-stepping 1:55 score by 2-1/4 lengths for the first half of a double for Matheson. Barrieau completed his driving triple in Race 11 with One Wicked Man ($2.10), who cruised to a three-length victory in 1:53.2 for trainer Jared Perrot.

Racing continues Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway. The card features the eliminations of the Governor’s Plate, presented by Summerside Chrysler Dodge.
