Another Mile Again Headlines Seven-Night Win For Tetrick

Another Mile Again winning at Hoosier Park

Another Mile Again kicked off the Indiana Sires Stakes for two-year-old male pacers and was part of a seven-win night at Hoosier Park for driver Trace Tetrick on Friday, July 10.

Another Mile Again, trained by Ron Burke, scored a maiden-breaking victory in the evening's first $94,286 stakes race with undefeated Mr Bear following suit with a win in the second $93,571 division for the son and father team of Marcus and Erv Miller.

Out of post five, Another Mile Again was forced to work along the outside after being closed off from the rail and eventually made the lead at the first quarter in :26.3. Another Mile Again led the way over Straightblueskies (Jordan Ross) and Nu Chex To Cash (Anthony Miller) to the halfway mark in :55.2. Dr Drake (Atlee Bender) was the first to move along the outside hoping to go first-over on Another Mile Again. Not allowing much of a chance, Another Mile Again hit the throttle on the final turn on his way to three-quarters in 1:23.4 and had a five-length lead at the top of the stretch. Down the lane, Another Mile Again was all business, cruising to the wire in 1:51.4, a 2-1/4 length winner in his second career start. This Captain Rocks (Spence Taylor) got up for second, while Nu Chex To Cash finish third.

A colt by Jk Endofanera out of the stakes-winning mare Do Me Good, Another Mile Again was purchased for $77,465 from the Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale by Burke Racing Stable of Fredericktown, Pennsylvania, Frank Baldachino of Harvey Cedars, New Jersey, Knox Services of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Michael Rosenthal of Las Vegas, Nevada.

This Sires Stakes win completed a sweep of the early Daily Double for Tetrick. After starting the night strong, Tetrick continued his winning momentum and ended up taking half of the 14 races. He also won with Fox Valley Sampson in the first, Ponda One in the fourth, Always A Laser in the fifth, Capt Peach in the eighth, La Captain Morgan in the 11th and Blaze On N in the 14th. Four of his winners -- Ponda One, Always A Laser, Capt Peach and Blaze On N -- are trained by Tyler George.

Mr Bear served up a similar display as the evening's first Sires Stakes winner when the Erv Miller trainee wired the second field of freshmen.

Mr Bear got away in no time from the inside post, claiming the lead as the field lined up in numerical order behind the favourite to the quarter in :27.4. The seven-horse field followed single file until Straighttemperment (Jordan Ross) made a brief break on the first turn, forcing his hand first-over outside of pocket-sitter Gwtrigger (Kyle Wilfong). Mr Bear met the halfway pole in :55.4, fending off Straighttemperment. Mr Bear remained the leader of the pack to three-quarters in 1:24.3. Showing his class at a young age, Mr Bear appeared to have no weakness down the stretch, blitzing home in :26.2 to win by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:51. Tell Me Its You (John De Long) rallied from the backfield with a :25.4 last quarter to be second, with Gwtrigger snagging the show spot.

Mr Bear is now a perfect three-for-three to begin his career. The grey Rockin Image-Mamas Lil Beach gelding, a $70,423 Midwest yearling buy, is owned by Ervin Miller Stable of Debary, Florida, D And M Trading Ii of Orland Park, Illinois, Levi Bontrager of Forest, Ohio and Laura Perniciaro of Leslie, Michigan.

Veteran foes battled later on the card, with Harrisburg Heist competing outside the Bluegrass state in a race for the first time this year and claiming victory in the $31,429 Open Handicap Pace with John De Long aboard for Ron Burke.

Leaving from post seven in the full field of 10, Harrisburg Heist looped around Golden Bay N (Trace Tetrick) to assert himself on top at the quarter in :26.1. Catching a second-quarter breather, Harrisburg Heist was first to the half in :55.1 before opening up by two lengths on the far turn to three-quarters in 1:22.3 while Little Rocket Man (Kyle Wilfong) raced first-over and into third. No one could get the to front-striding favourite in the lane, with Harrisburg Heist coasting to the wire clear by three parts of a length in 1:49.4 over Crooked Smile (Jordan Ross), who rallied between foes for second, while Little Rocket Man held for third.

Harrisburg Heist has won six of his eight races this year -- with his first seven starts all in Kentucky Sires Stakes events -- while banking $264,632 in 2026. The millionaire four-year-old son of Downbytheseaside-Cashway is owned by Burke Racing Stable and Knox Services, along with Phillip Collura of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania and Weaver Bruscemi of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
