House Edge Hanover Favoured Saturday At Red Shores
A competitive card featuring a pair of sponsored dashes and a wide-open top pace will headline the action on Saturday, July 11 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval hosts an 11-dash presentation with a 5 p.m. (ADT) first race post time.
The featured $4,650 pace lines up in race 10 with House Edge Hanover installed as the 5-2 morning line favourite from post four. Gilles Barrieau drives the son of Betting Line for trainer Ron Matheson and owner Everette Hanson of Maugerville, N.B. The 24-time winner kicks clear of the top flight Preferred company he has been keeping in recent weeks as he seeks his fourth win of 2026.
Captain Highliner (To be driven by Ken Murphy) leaves from post two for trainer Jennifer Doyle, while DJ Mustang has post three with Adam Merner in the bike for trainer Saul Lanigan. Hunters Hero (Marc Campbell) gets post five from the Landon Campbell barn and Malevolent (Paul Langille) gets post six.
The Post Time Picks, however, sides with T H Boomtown from the rail for driver Corey MacPherson, and trainer Matheson.
"Take a peek at the line two back where T H Boomtown zipped off the wings and made every call a winning one. He's in deeper waters now but should get a ground saving trip from the cones so mark him down as the value play of the day."
The $2,500 Brent MacDougall Memorial goes postward in race five with Blue Moose on the rail for driver Steven Shepherd, trainer Harold Shepherd and owner Taylor Shepherd of Mirabel, Que. His main rivals include Friar Voltaire (Murphy) from post six and Power Of Four (Irwin Neill) from the trailing post nine.
The Kenmac Energy Pace in race four features the John Clarey-trained Bentley (Marc Campbell) favoured from post two over Pictonian I Am (Murphy) and JK Last Chance (Jason Hughes).
