Dr. Boris Laus passed away suddenly on June 24, 2026 while in his beloved country of Croatia. He was 59. 

He was born on July 18, 1966 in Karlovac, Croatia. Beloved husband of Amy (nee Jasin). Proud and devoted father of Natalee, Nikolas, Nina and Noah. Cherished son of Ankica (Anna) and Miro (Mike) Laus. Loving son in-law of Marilyn and Jerry Jasin. Loved brother in-law to Kelly and Frank Murgic. Precious nephew to Katy Fuduric. Adored cousin to Marko Fuduric (Mary Ann), Joe Fuduric (Wendy). Boris will be forever remembered by nephew and godson Luka Murgic and niece Emma Murgic. He was a great uncle to Anthony Fuduric, Marina, Lucia and Nadia Fuduric. Much loved by his extended family in Karlovac, Croatia, the Prstec and Gorsic families, and his extended family and friends in Windsor, Ont.

Boris was a veterinarian for 35 years and proud owner of Lauzon Veterinary Hospital in Windsor and his beloved horse farm in Lakeshore. He was exceptionally skilled and a highly respected veterinarian whose knowledge, compassion and dedication earned the trust and admiration of both colleagues and clients alike. He devoted his life to caring for animals and took great pride in making a difference in their lives and the lives of the families who loved them. Boris had a deep love for horses and harness racing, which brought him many years of joy. They were far more than a passion, they nourished his soul, they brought him fulfillment and peace.

Boris was a devoted father to his four children. He was their greatest supporter, always encouraging them and helping them navigate life's path. He took great pride in who they became in life. A passionate hockey enthusiast and larger than life fan in the stands of Niko and Noah.

Boris was loved by many for his generous heart and willingness to help others. He found great joy in offering a helping hand, sharing his wisdom and giving advice whenever it was needed. If you needed a laugh, Boris always had a joke, or several to tell. His quick wit and humour could light up a room. No family gathering will ever be the same without his presence.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Parish prayers at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home then in procession to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass and Celebration of Boris' life at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
