An accident involving two horses occurred in the eighth race at Grand River Raceway on Monday, July 6.

Bulldog Journey, driven by Austin Sorrie, went off stride at the top of the stretch in front of horses before bearing in and hooking wheels with Happy Elsie, driven by Lorne House. Both drivers were unseated, with Bulldog Journey going down while Happy Elise stayed upright after the contact. 

Both drivers were assessed by EMS, with Austin Sorrie completing his remaining drives on the card, while House had no further assignments on the card but was reported to be okay. 

Happy Elsie was uninjured, while Bulldog Journey was assessed by the Official Vet and placed on the long-term Vet List.
