The Preferred class will gather a powerful field on Tuesday, July 7 at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway with a pair of Atlantic Canadian stars set for a rematch.

The Prince County oval has a 14-dash presentation starting at 6 p.m. (ADT), with the featured $6,250 pace lining up in race 13.

Miki Shan N is the top choice from the outside post six with Corey MacPherson in the bike for trainer Chris MacKay and owners Kap Singh Racing Stable of Yorkton Heights, New York, Stephen Klunowski of North York, Ont., Earl Hill Jr. of Ohsweken, Ont., and Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge, P.E.I. The New Zealand-bred son of Always B Miki-Yankee Dream was victorious in 1:54.2 in his first Atlantic Canadian start of the season on July 1, leading all the way to keep his perfect record on red soil intact. Miki Shan N is the defending Gold Cup & Saucer and Governor’s Plate champion and has never lost a race in Atlantic Canada as he preps for the upcoming 2026 Governor’s Plate eliminations on Sunday, July 12.

Hellabalou will start from post five with Paul Langille training and driving the millionaire son of Sweet Lou-Magestic Blue Chip for Nikway Farms of St. David's, N.L. The eight-year-old made his Red Shores debut on Canada Day at Summerside his new owner, finishing third.

Sure Thing Captain has post two for driver Jason Hughes and trainer Ralph Sweet while Tony Too Tall has rail control for driver Keith Legge and trainer Luke Burke. Doc Awesome will leave from post four with Adam Merner driving for trainer Darla MacEachern and Freemans Legacy has post three for trainer/driver Jaycob Sweet.

The "Post Time Picks" has selected Miki Shan N on top: “Miki Shan N was unable to get the best of Hellabalou in Ohio but got the upper hand in his first start back on the Eastern Seaboard. Miki Shan N is a horse that has made a living out of finding ways to win when it matters but we know Hellabalou is about to make some noise now that he is acclimated to the Eastern Seaboard. This is going to be a top-level tussle whichever way it goes.”
