Cash Money Twenty Connects In Aces Open Pace

Cash Money Twenty

The Tuesday, June 30 program at Running Aces featured two Open pacing events, with six contestants lining up for the $22,857 top Open Handicap, and nine two-year-old pacers going into battle for the $12,857 freshman Open.

Cash Money Twenty lived up to the 1-5 hype to deliver his fifth straight win. Driver Casey Leonard sent him into action early and they worked hard to get to the front during the fast :26.4 opening panel, relegating fellow leavers Alta Revelry N (Luke Plano) and Speaking Volumes (Rick Magee) into the second and third spots respectively.

Leonard orchestrated a :29.1 breather in the second panel and then began to turn the speed back on during the final half mile and there was never an anxious moment for Cash Money Twenty. He rolled home with a final half mile in :54.3 and checked in one length better than Alta Revelry N with Speaking Volumes finishing a clear third.

Cash Money Twenty (Stevensville-Hostess Lisa) now shows 25 wins from 32 career starts and has earned $505,418 for his owners Heart & Soul Racing of Des Moines, Ia. The $2.40 winner is trained by Brett Ballinger.

Bombi ($17.20) and driver Lemoyne Svendsen got up in the final stride to capture victory in the freshman Open for his first career win, surging past the pace-setting filly Slipped Onmybeans (Dean Magee) at the wire in a fast 1:54.3 mile which was just one tick off from the track record for rookie pacing colts. Well I Didnt Know (Leonard) was home in third.

The winner is a son of Three Of Clubs-Big White Pearl and is owned and trained by Mark Anderson of Willows, Ca.

Brady Jenson led the program with three driving wins as well as a training double.

Live harness racing returns to Running Aces on Thursday, July 2 for an 11-race program that will feature a carryover of $27,304.36 for the 20-cent Pick-5 Jackpot wager which will start in race seven. Post time is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).
