Dan D Man Can stayed perfect at three he closed from third down the stretch to take the $136,620 Indiana Sire Stakes (INSS) third leg for three-year-old trotting colts and geldings at Hoosier Park on Thursday, June 25.

Dan D Man Can, driven by Atlee Bender, pushed out of post four to lead the 10-horse group into the first turn, eventually yielding to August Salazar (John De Long) at the quarter in :26.4. Favourite San Patricio (Trace Tetrick) then moved up the ranks from fourth down the backstretch to snag the lead from August Salazar at the halfway mark in :56.2.

San Patricio led to the three-quarters in 1:25 followed by August Salazar, Dan D Man Can and Swan Affect (Marcus Miller). Dan D Man Can moved off the pylons at the top of the stretch, setting down for the drive alongside August Salazar and San Patricio. San Patricio gave in midway down the lane, and Dan D Man Can overpowered August Salazar late for the 1:53.1 victory. Swan Affect soared to be second, three-quarters of a length behind the winner, with August Salazar third.

After winning an overnight race in his sophomore debut, Dan D Man Can has scored three straight INSS victories for trainer Erv Miller. The Dover Dan-Caramela Hanover gelding is owned by Red Barn Stable, Douglas Overhiser and Lava Java Stable. He boosted his lifetime earnings to $331,491 and his career record to five-for-13 with his fourth win on four starts in 2026. Dan D Man Can paid $6.40 to win. 

Bender tacked on one more win on the evening, bringing his career tally to 999 heading into the Friday-night program.

On that card, Hoosier Park will welcome North America Cup champion Odds On Mr Mamba in his return to his home state. He will race out of post three in the $95,000 USD third leg of the INSS for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings. The 13-race slate will feature a $15,000 guaranteed Early Pick 5 with a $2,491 carryover, a $10,000 guaranteed Late Pick 4 and the $10,000 guaranteed Late Hoosier High 5, all done in partnership with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program.
