No Approval Needed Wins Again In Buckeye Action
No Approval Needed is now a two-time winner in the Buckeye Stallion Series this season after scoring a victory on Monday, June 22 as Northfield Park hosted four $$28,169 divisions of the third leg for sophomore filly trotters.
A winner in the second leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series on June 4 at Eldorado Scioto Downs in a lifetime mark of 1:54.3, No Approval Needed and driver Dan Noble set fractions of :29.3, :59.4 and 1:29.2 in her repeat series score on Monday. The heavy favourite crossed the line in 1:58.4, three-quarters of a length ahead of second-place Dream Of Charlotte (Braiden Rhoades). Seven Lick Image (Sam Widger) was third.
No Approval Needed is trained by Ryan Stahl, who also co-owns with his Ohio partners Stephen Reis and Matt Lambert. She has won four of her six starts this year, including three in a row as winner of Scioto's John Konesky Trotting Series final between her Buckeye races. The Uncle Peter-Sealedwithapproval filly now has a career record of 9-6-1 and earnings of $91,631 in 17 starts.
Odds-on favourite Chip Shot and Chris Lems recorded the fastest mile of Monday’s Buckeye races, taking the second division by 1-1/2 lengths in a lifetime-best 1:55.3 in her seasonal debut. Lynn Range (Tyler Smith) was second followed by Mockingbird As (Chris Page) in third. Chip Shot is a Mission Accepted-Obsessed Blue Chip filly trained by Vernon Beachy for Ohio owners John Schlabach and Walnut View Farm. She now has five wins in 10 career starts and earnings of $53,458.
Lucky Lady Volo, driven by Justin Irvine, won the first division by three-quarters of a length in a lifetime-best 1:56, giving her four victories and neatly $170,000 in earnings in 16 lifetime starts. The bettors' choice, Shes In (Tyler Smith), and Dublins Breanna (Braiden Rhoades) rounded out the top three. An In Range-Lady Gill Again filly, Lucky Lady Volo is trained by Erv Miller and shares ownership as part of Ervin Miller Stable, along with Kentucky's Kentuckiana Racing Stable and Florida's Stepbystep Racing.
In the third division, Supreme Dance and Sam Widger led gate to wire and won by half a length over Flirtin Tomi (Dan Noble) in 1:57.1 with favourite Topville Lady (Chris Page) in third. It was the third win in eight seasonal starts for the Full Count-Supreme Day filly owned by trainer Rosy Weaver and Ohio's Scott Davis. She now has a career record of 14-6-3 with earnings of $146,728 in 27 starts.
The Buckeye Stallion Series continues on Saturday, June 27, with the third leg for sophomore colt pacers at Scioto Downs.
