Hellabalou Sells For Six Figures
The millionaire Grand Circuit stakes-winning pacer Hellabalou sold for six figures to a Canadian buyer in an online auction on Monday afternoon, June 22.
Hellabalou was purchased for $185,211 ($131,500 USD) by Brent Chaffey of St. David's, Nfld. via ongait.com.
The eight-year-old Sweet Lou-Magestic Blue Chip stallion won the Delvin Miller Adios at The Meadows as a three-year-old and went on to capture the final of the MGM Borgata Pacing Series twice at Yonkers Raceway along with the Camluck Classic at The Raceway at Western Fair District while trained by Ron Burke during his aged campaign. He took his lifetime mark of 1:48.3f at Harrah's Philadelphia as a six-year-old.
Reported by Dr. J Stallion Management to stand stud for the 2025 breeding season in Indiana, Hellabalou returned to the races pushing his career win count to 42 and lifetime earnings to $1,865,320 with a victory on Sunday night at Northfield Park extending his current Open win streak to four.
The Pennsylvania partnership of Burke Racing Stable, Phillip Collura and Weaver Bruscemi as well as Florida's Lawrence Karr were the
sellers.
