Merigo Magic will look to knock off the current top-class prizewinner in Tuesday evening's Preferred Pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

The Prince County oval has a 13-dash presentation starting at 6 p.m. (ADT), with the $6,250 Preferred in race 12.

Merigo Magic is the 5-2 morning line favourite from the outside post five with trainer Adam Merner handling the lines for owners Mike May, Herman McQuaid and Derrick Cameron of Charlottetown, P.E.I. The five-year-old Tobago Cays-Meridian Magic gelding has been perfect in two starts since coming back to action this spring, winning in 1:57.2 at Red Shores Charlottetown on May 30 then following it up with a 1:54.4 victory last week in Summerside.

His main rival will be reigning Red Shores Summerside top-class champion House Edge Hanover from post 2 with Jason Hughes in the bike for trainer Ron Matheson and owner Everett Hanson of Maugerville, N.B. The Betting Line-Hug A Dragoness gelding is riding a three-race win streak including the last two top events at Red Shores Summerside.

Louie The Great has rail control for driver Corey MacPherson, trainer Les Waite and his co-owners Leith and Spencer Waite. The Dancin Lou-Tinkerbella four-year-old sports 11 wins from 42 lifetime outings.

Doc Awesome will leave from post three with Paul Langille aboard for trainer Darla MacEachern, who co-owns with Allen Gaudet and Mike Cameron of Summerside. The gritty son of All Bets Off-Direct Macawesome has been second in all three of his 2026 starts.

Rounding out the field is Sauble Attack with post four for driver Ken Murphy, trainer and co-owner Paul Biggar and local partner Donald Callbeck. A 28-time winner in his career, the Bettors Delight-Ambrosia Seelster gelding has already won in 1:54.4 this season.

The "Post Time Picks" has selected Merigo Magic on top: “Merigo Magic has been on top of his game so far in 2026 and his versatility will come into play tonight in a big way. He has the outside post but Merner has lots of options as his closing panels of :26 and change in his last two starts makes very clear. Knocking off House Edge Hanover will be no small task but we think this guy is ready for the battle.”
