Dresden Card Cancelled After Three

Harness racing at Dresden Raceway

Dresden Raceway put an end to its Sunday, June 14 card after three races due to unsafe track conditions brought on by heavy rain.

The two scheduled Prospect Series divisions for three-year-old trotting fillies, carded as the first and third races, went forward. Lookstobemagic ($4.80) won an early battle for the lead to cut the mile, then shrugged off two-time series winner Thwarter (Garrett Rooney) on the final turn to win the first division by 3-1/4 lengths. Ellie (Keith Jones) finished second, followed by Cool Beer (Samuel Fillion). Trainer Brent Belore guided the winning daughter of Lookslikeachpndale-Magical Wonder, owned by Karen and Daniel MacIntyre of London, Ont., to the 2:03.3 tally over a surface rated sloppy and three seconds off.

The track deteriorated to heavy with a five-second variant by the second split, which went to Look A Diamond ($3.10) in 2:06. The Lookslikeachpndale-Black Diamond Star filly, driven by Garrett Rooney, moved twice to the lead early and was a safe winner by a length over pocket-sitter Silver Pride (Samuel Fillion) with Lmc Chipnchoclate (Pat Hudon) third. Peter Hamilton of London owns and trains his homebred filly,  who won the London Classic Sale Series final in her prior start.

Racing is set to resume at Dresden on Sunday, June 21.
