Two Fold Cold, Rocket Deo Win Plainridge Opens
Two Fold Cold scored his first victory of the year, and Rocket Deo circled the field to win her Plainridge Park debut in the featured Open Paces on Thursday, June 11.
In the $38,194 Open Handicap Pace, Two Fold Cold found his old form and came from behind for his first win of 2026 in six outings.
Two Fold Cold (David Ingraham) got away sixth as Binge On Yankee (Mitchell Cushing) took the lead from Tenzing Bromac N (Ron Cushing) as they passed the quarter in :27. Shortly after the field settled, Two Fold Cold got in gear and ambled his way towards the leader through the half in :55.4, eventually striking the top at three-quarters in 1:23.1. Two Fold Cold carved out a length advantage on the final turn and held off a late-closing Franco Tyson A (Larry Stalbaum) to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:50.3. Binge On Yankee was third.
Two Fold Cold took his 25th career win in 49 starts. Kelly Case trains the son of Deuce Seelster-Snow Cone A, who won three Plainridge Opens last season, for Marc Tardif. The five-year-old paid $6.60 to win.
Rocket Deo closed from last off a fast first half to win the $34,722 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace.
Swedish Starlet N (Matty Athearn), Joansrisingstar N (Kevin Switzer Jr.) and Sweet Hayley Jane A (Ron Cushing) all argued for the lead early with Sweet Hayley Jane A finally claiming the point past the :26.3 quarter. She then flew to the half in :53.1. Turn The Page N (Mitchell Cushing) was moving first-over on the outside, and Rocket Deo (Bradley Chisholm) followed her cover as they paced up the backside and to three-quarters in 1:21.1. Turn The Page N continued her forward motion in the turn and had the lead at the top of the stretch, but Rocket Deo tipped off cover, went by Turn The Page N and pulled away by 2-1/2 lengths to win in 1:50.1. Turn The Page N was second over Intothemysticmoon (Bruce Ranger).
Rocket Deo’s 21st lifetime win pushed her career earnings to $1,085,694 in 47 starts. She tallied her second victory in 10 outings this season. Brett Pelling trains the five-year-old daughter of Captaintreacherous-Rocklamation for owner Morrison Racing Stables. The win price was $4.20.
There was a massive payout in the Wicked Hi-5 pentafecta in the day’s ninth race. A single unique winning combination of 5-7-9-4-1 returned $48,880.64 for a 20-cent wager.
Bruce Ranger led all drivers on the 10-race card with three wins while trainers Jackie Greene and Enrico Robinson each won two races during the program.
Racing resumes at Plainridge on Friday at 4 p.m.
