A Blue Million Hangs On In Harrington Open

A Blue Million

A Blue Million returned to the Harrington Raceway winner's circle for the first time since April after winning a three-horse photo in the $31,250 Open Handicap Trot on Wednesday, June 3.

A trio of seasonal Open-class winners — A Blue Million, Dyladmar and Every Day Dan — squared off in the seven-horse field. A Blue Million, who won on April 29, led the charge from post three for Tony Morgan to set fractions of :28.3 and :58.1 with Every Day Dan (Mike Cole) in the pocket. The outer flow developed with Dyladmar (Russell Foster) heading up the outer tier, followed by Arrowhead Hanover (Troy Beyer) second-over to three-quarters in 1:27.1. Every Day Dan and Arrowhead Hanover charged at A Blue Million down the lane, but the pacesetter held off their strong surges to win by a head in 1:55.3. Every Day Dan edged out Arrowhead Hanover for place.

A Blue Million, owned by Stephen Stoll and Nathan Yoder, is 22-for-71 lifetime. The five-year-old Swan In A Million-Ipo Blue Chip gelding won for the seventh time this season in 16 starts for trainer Tim Crissman. He paid $10 to win.

Morgan had four wins on the 15-race card. Montrell Teague, Corey Callahan and Brandon Givens each had a pair of victories.
