Logan Park Launches In Mohawk Open
Canada's fastest trotting mile of 2026 now belongs to Logan Park as the classy double-millionaire cruised to a 1:50 blitzing in the $40,000 Open Trot on Monday (June 1) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
With regular pilot Doug McNair aboard, Logan Park rocketed to the top from post six to grab control of the field of eight through a sizzling first quarter of :26.2. The 1-2 favourite tapped the brakes to the half in :55 before pressing the accelerator once more on the way to three-quarters in 1:22.3 and opening up by 2-1/2 lengths on the field while Hasty Bid (James MacDonald) raced inside of Sid The Kid (Mark MacDonald) in second.
The tour de force continued in the lane, with Logan Park asserting himself with a :27.2 final fraction on the end of it, crossing the wire 2-1/4 lengths clear en route to his 1:50 clocking. Hasty Bid held for second, with Osceola (Jody Jamieson) securing third along the cones.
Logan Park has now won two of four in his eight-year-old campaign for owners Outofthepark Stable of Rockwood, Ont., Reg Higgs of Blenheim, Ont., and Arpad Szabo of Bradford, Ont. Duane Marfisi trains the Archangel-Riteoutofthepark gelding who has won 46 times for his career, banking $2,341,405 lifetime.
