House Edge Hanover Favoured In Summerside Preferred
Rail control could be the deciding factor on Tuesday evening with House Edge Hanover lining up from the inside in the $6,250 Preferred Pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Prince County oval has a 14-dash presentation starting at 6 p.m. (ADT), with the Preferred featured in race 13.
House Edge Hanover is the 5-2 morning line choice from post one with Jason Hughes in the bike for trainer Ron Matheson and owner Everett Hanson of Maugerville, N.B. Stepping up in class, the five-year-old son of Betting Line-Hug A Dragoness went all the way in his most recent outing with a 1:53-and-change performance off the front at Red Shores Charlottetown.
Sauble Attack, the 3-1 second choice, will start from post four with Ken Murphy back in the race bike for trainer Paul Biggar and local co-owner Donald Callbeck. The eight-year-old Bettors Delight-Ambrosia Seelster gelding was a winner in his first start back this season in 1:54.4 on May 18 and has been a steady player at this level in the past.
Doc Awesome, 7-2 on the morning line, will leave from post two for driver Corey MacPherson, trainer Darla MacEachern and co-owners Allen Gaudet and Mike Cameron, all of Summerside, P.E.I. The six-year-old son of All Bets Off-Direct Macawesome has finished second in his last seven starts going back to November and will be a force from the inside wing of the starting gate.
Completing the field, season-debuting Brookdale Johnny has post three with Paul Langille handling the driving duties for trainer Phil Sizer and owners Doug Polley Jr. and Doug Polley Sr., of Amherst, N.S., while Howmac Charmer has post five with Ryan Desroche aboard for trainer Kyle Williams and owner Doug Williams of Guelph, Ont.
The "Post Time Picks" has selected House Edge Hanover on top: “House Edge Hanover has been right there against solid company and now lands the rail with Hughes in the bike. He should be able to control his own destiny from this spot and we think he gets the perfect set-up to finish the job.”
