Livonjaxandqueens swept from fifth at three-quarters to capture the $15,278 featured optional-claiming pace at Tioga Downs on Monday, May 25.

Livonjaxandqueens got away fifth in the six-horse field for Greg Merton, while Bb Lucky Boy (Joe Chindano Jr.) put up the quarter in :27.3 before yielding to Stormalong (Brett MacDonald). The latter took over with a circuit to go and led through middle fractions of :55.1 and 1:22.3, with Livonjaxandqueens entering the flow from fifth at the third station. Livonjaxandqueens came flying to take the lead with an eighth of a mile to go and went clear by 1-1/2 lengths to win in 1:51. Stormalong had to settle for second. Mirragon A (Jim Pantaleano) finished third.

Livonjaxandqueens improved his seasonal record to two-for-10. The six-year-old son of American Ideal-Its De Lovely is trained by Jim Rothfuss for Howard and Andrew Ouriel. He is now 26-for-98 lifetime. The win price was $7.02.

Mike Merton had a driving hat trick on the 11-race card. Greg Merton and Ron Cushing each drove two winners.

Tioga Downs will host its next card on Friday, starting at 6:15 p.m.
