Windemere Skye Returns Sunday At Summerside

Atlantic Sires Stakes action headlines the afternoon program on Sunday, May 24 at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway with three-year-old pacing colts and fillies battling in competition.

The 10-dash card gets underway at 12:30 p.m. (ADT) with the sophomore pacing fillies taking centre stage in race 10 for a $29,740 purse in an Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division.

O’Brien Award finalist Windemere Skye makes her 2026 debut from post four in the lone Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division for three-year-old pacing fillies. Marc Campbell is back in the seat behind the undefeated Earl Watts trainee for owners Windemere Farms and Matt Burke. The daughter of Somewhere Fancy – Howmac Missy was a perfect 12-for-12 in 2025 with $124,975 in earnings and recorded a solid qualifying win in 1:57.2 on May 16 in line to Adam Merner.

"She trained back nice," Watts told Trot Insider. "She is looking great and in shape right now."

Her main opponent is pegged as post three entry Mysterious Ways from the Stephen Quinn barn, to be driven by Jason Hughes. The daughter of Blood Money was an impressive winner in 1:56.3 in her latest start. Third choice on the morning line is post two entry Alwaysinfullforce (David Dowling) for trainer Mike McGuigan. The Force N Fury lass went down the highway in 1:56 last time out.

The Post Time Picks call Windemere Skye the most probable winner of the day.

“Windemere Skye has been nothing but superb her entire career as she remains undefeated. Had some trouble in her first qualifier of the season as she made contact with the gate and went off stride but her easy qualifying win next time put any fears to rest. She is the one to hunt down in here.”

The sophomore fillies have $6,000 'B' divisions in races two, four, six and eight.

The three-year-old pacing colt 'A' divisions carry purses of $17,940 in races three and seven.

Race 3 has Fire And Blood (Mike Downey) favoured from post two from the Ellen Stevenson barn for owner Dr. Mitchell Downey of Saint John, N.B. The son of Blood Money went four-for-nine in his rookie season and was a third-place finisher in 1:55.3 in his latest start.

Atlantic Breeders Crown Champion Sporty Anthony has post five in the field with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Jason Biggar as he makes his first pari-mutuel start of the season.

The second 'A' division for colts in race seven has Woodmere Mahomes favoured from the rail for trainer-driver Gilles Barrieau as the son of Tobago Cays looks for win number three of his career for owner Daniel Ross of Vernon Bridge, P.E.I.

Goose Commander (Jason Hughes) gets post two from the Ashley Gamester outfit and Windemere Britt (Paul Langille) is another top contender from post three for trainer Kyle Williams.

The Atlantic Sires Stakes 'B' divisions for three-year-old pacing colts have $6,000 purses in races one, five and nine.
