Streaking Blood Money Favoured In CDP Preferred

Blood Money

The powerhouse that is Blood Money will look to continue his free-legged brilliance against Prince Edward Island’s finest in the Saturday night, May 16 feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval hosts a 12-dash presentation with a 6 p.m. (ADT) first race post time. The $6,250 Preferred Pace headlines the card in race 11 with Blood Money as the 5-2 morning line favourite starting from the outside post five.

Blood Money will again have driver Gilles Barrieau above the wheels as the 10-year-old son of Sweet Lou-Blood Diamond seeks his sixth straight victory for trainer Ron Matheson and owner Dr. Mitchell Downey of Saint John, N.B. The stallion has won all three Preferred events since the new season began to remain undefeated since removing the hopples.

Stablemate Twin B Tuffenuff, to be driven by Corey MacPherson, may be poised to make things interesting from the rail after finishing second in his seasonal debut. Local resident Pat Morris holds the ownership papers on the former Gold Cup & Saucer runner-up, an 11-year-old son of Rock N Roll Heaven-In The Pink.

Nuttin But Finesse holds down post two for trainer Ellen Stevenson and owner Dr. Downey after hitting the triactor in all three starts this season. The eight-year-old son of Art Major-Nuttin But Trouble will be driven by Mike Downey.

Dusty Lane Levi is back on red soil and has post three for trainer Earl Watts and owners Matt & David Burke of Stratford, P.E.I. The four-year-old son of Lather Up-Rock Be A Lady had raced at Woodbine Mohawk Park for the winter months where he was a winner in 1:52.3 in the Bo Ford stable while recording two wins from four starts this calendar year. He will be driven by Ken Murphy.

One Wicked Man will leave from post four as the son of McWicked-Alexander Valley starts his four-year-old campaign for trainer/driver Kenny Arsenault and owner James Perrot of Stratford, P.E.I.

The "Post Time Picks" predicts lightning will strike again for Blood Money: “Blood Money has toyed with the competition since returning to action, but his stablemate, Twin B Tuffenuff, on the rail could trip out and give him a run for his money in the stretch. I’m giving him the slight edge because he’s full of confidence, and that could carry him to the line first.”
