Jacob Rheinheimer's 2026 Fantasy Stable

Jacob Rheinheimer's 2026 Fantasy Stable

Who have harness racing's sharpest minds selected in the 2026 TROT Magazine Fantasy Stable? Trot Insider will feature 'expert picks' in advance of the deadline for this year's contest.

Returning once more to Standardbred Canada's panel of experts is Jacob Rheinheimer, Race Marketing Manager & Sponsorships for Harrah's Hoosier Park. Undaunted by 2025 Horse of the Year Beau Jangles in Group A, Rheinheimer selected the fastest two-year-old in harness racing history, Odds On Mr Mamba in that deep sophomore-stacked category.

"The fastest two-year-old in the sport’s history at a place where you just don’t see world record miles. He has been vicious in both qualifiers back at three and the connections have paid him into a full stakes schedule this year. We never came close to seeing the bottom of this guy last year, and I cannot wait to see him take on the best at a national level in 2026. He makes it look effortless and has the most explosive turn of foot I can recall seeing in my nine years at Hoosier. "

Odds On Mr Mamba

Trained by Melanie Wrenn, the Odds On Equuleus-Honky Tonk Woman gelding won seven of his eight races and $436,552 competing solely in Indiana during his freshman campaign for Odds On Racing of Boca Raton, Florida. He paced the fastest mile ever by a two-year-old, winning an Indiana Sire Stakes in 1:47.4 on Oct. 2 in his penultimate start of the season before easily taking the state championship title.

His sophomore efforts to date have included a pair of qualifiers, most recently clocking a 1:52.4 mile on May 9. Rheinheimer noted that the :27.3 final quarter posted by Odds On Mr Mamba in that effort — the slowest of his career — was deceptively impressive given the extremely strong headwinds horses faced in the final quarter during that session.
