Tetrick Wins Five, Takes Two Philly Features

Benjamin Hanover

Driver Tim Tetrick, as part of a five-win day, combined with trainer Scott Di Domenico to capture two of the conditioned feature events on “Trottin’ Thursday,” May 7 at Harrah’s Philadelphia, winning both races by a half-length to get the duo's horses, Benjamin Hanover and B Mo, back on the winning track.

For a horse such as Benjamin Hanover, who won 31 of his first 56 lifetime starts, a recent skein of eight performances without reporting back to victory lane was an aberration due to end. The six-year-old Sebastian K S-By A Neck Hanover gelding got away strongly from the rail to protect the pocket behind Lefties Righties (Corey Callahan), the second choice who put up numbers of :27.2, :56.3 and 1:24.1. Benjamin Hanover then collared him down the stretch to get the decision in the $17,808 feature in 1:52.4. Clear For Landing (Simon Allard) was third. Benjamin Hanover, owned by Angela Cornell, is now 32-for-65 lifetime. He paid $3.20 to win.

The five-year-old Trixton-B Flomo gelding B Mo ($11) had not won in seven 2026 outings despite having the lead at the stretch call in four of those races. But on Thursday in the $15,753 fast-class sub-feature, he kept rolling for Tetrick after setting fractions of :28.1, :57 and 1:25.3, holding off passing lane charger Diplomacy (Simon Allard) while taking a lifetime best of 1:54 for owner Ben Robards. Moni Buys Happynes (Jonathan Ahle) was third. B Mo has now won seven of 43 career starts.

Tetrick also scored victories with Perfect Wager ($2.20), Captainforlife As ($3) and Hes So Smart ($3) for a quintuple on the 13-race card. He leads the 2026 standings at Philly with 31 wins, putting him 13 ahead of second-placed Simon Allard.

In a $16,438 conditioned event for developing diamondgaiters, the Walner-Born Lindy mare R Lady W ($6.40) came through after setting slow early splits of :30 and :59.1, speeding up to a 1:27.1 three-quarters that put her in a position to finish out a neck ahead of Just Teasing (Andy Miller) in 1:55.2. Chestnut Kelly (Tetrick) was third. The four-year-old R Lady W had not won since Oct. 24, 2024, when she took the Massachusetts freshman championship, but she had earned her way with earnings of $162,717 in the interval, taking advantage of triple eligibility in the Massachusetts, New Jersey and Kentucky programs. Here, she regained winning form for driver Mark Herschberger, trainer Linda Toscano, and lessee M&L of Delaware/Armitage Farm LLC. She is now four-for-31 lifetime.

Tetrick and Herschberger were the only sulkysitters with multiple victories on the card, with Herschberger, now up to third in the local standings, tallying three times. Di Domenico's feature wins gave him the only double in the trainers' ranks.

Distaff pacers will headline Friday’s 12:25 p.m. racing card at Philly. Mother's Day Sunday will have an array of attractions: UFC lightweight star Charles Oliveira, who lost his first pari-mutuel driving start on Tuesday at Pocono by a nose, is scheduled to drive five horses, there will be promotions centred on the Mothers Day theme, an Elvis impersonator is scheduled to be coming into the building, and yes, there will be fast pacers also for the enjoyment of the patrons on the 12:40 p.m. card.
