Think Of Galaxies Stars At Buffalo
Think Of Galaxies went to the front early and held off the first-over Elegant Woman A down the lane to secure the victory in the $20,946 Fillies and Mares Open Pace on Wednesday, May 6 at Buffalo Raceway.
After suffering a two-length defeat to Utopia Blue Chip in last week's main event, Think Of Galaxies moved her Buffalo Open record to two-for-three with a front-end effort. Starting from the five post, Brett MacDonald declined a spot in third with the mare and drove on to put her on the lead.
Posting fractions of :28.1, :57.3 and 1:27 over the track labelled good, Think Of Galaxies was prepared for the charge from the other seven distaffs turning for home, including Elegant Woman A (Drew Monti). But she dealt with that rival, and there were no further challenges as she used a :28.4 last quarter to seal the deal in 1:55.4. Elegant Woman A was a length behind in second, followed by Face The Shadows (Kevin Cummings).
Cory Kreiser trains Think Of Galaxies for Ameer Najor and Thunder Racing Stables Inc. The eight-year-old daughter of So Surreal-Lightning D Dube is now three-for-13 on the campaign, and she has won two of three starts since moving to Buffalo in April. Her career totals are now 33 victories and $708,807 in earnings from 158 outings. She paid $3.54 to win.
Monti, Kevin Cummings and MacDonald all had driving doubles on the 13-race card. Samuel Smith, Taylor Fritz and Ferris Hazlett all collected two training victories.
Racing will return to Buffalo on Friday at 2:30 p.m. with a 12-race program set.
