Beau Jangles

Beau Jangles, the 2025 Horse of the Year both in Canada and the U.S., is set for the first start of his highly-anticipated sophomore season.

The son of Cattlewash - Mrs Major Hill is entered in the first of two $25,000 WEG SBOA Stakes eliminations on Saturday, May 9 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, slated as Race 7. Beau Jangles has drawn post one inside of six rivals. The second division, also featuring seven male pacers, is slotted as Saturday's ninth race on a 12-dash card.

Trained by Dr. Ian Moore, Beau Jangles boasts an unblemished 12-start career for owners Graham Grace Stables LLC of Clifton, Va., Kiwi Stables LLC of La Plata, Md. and Bolton Stables of Clermont, Fl. He'll shoot for his 13th straight victory with regular pilot Bob McClure at the lines. The career winner of more than $1.6 million in purses prepped for his sophomore pari-mutuel debut with a pair of impressive qualifiers at Southern Oaks Training Center in Florida.

Saturday's card also features two eliminations of the WEG SBOA Stakes for three-year-old male trotters, with 2025 O'Brien Award winner Strobe Lite set for his sophomore pari-mutuel debut in his elimination. The son of Alarm Detector - Shine Bright has post three in the first elimination, the second race of the card, for driver James MacDonald, trainer / co-owner Ben Baillargeon of Guelph, Ont. and co-owners Claude Hamel of Orford, Que., Nunzio Vena of Bolton, Ont. and Glengate Farms of Erin, Ont, 

The eliminations for the trotting colts & geldings are races two and three on Saturday.

The fillies kick off the action on Friday, May 8 with a pair of $25,000 eliminations for each gait. A Clean Deal, Canada's Two-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year in 2025, makes her first sophomore start after three qualifying tighteners. A daughter of Cattlewash - Ideal Talker, A Clean Deal headlines the 16 WEG SBOA entrants and leaves from post six in the eighth race, the second elimination. Driver Doug McNair once again gets the call from trainer Kyle Fellows for owners Yolanda Fellows of Rockwood, Ont., Blair Corbeil of Leduc, Alta, Windermere Stable LLC of New York, N.Y. and Jim Ross of Wingham, Ont.

O'Brien Award finalist Flowing Tribute will look to atone from her last appearance at Mohawk, where she was the beaten favourite in the 2025 Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final last October in her only off-the-board finish. The daughter of Green Manalishi S - Watch The Show has post 10 in the first elimination. Bob McClure has the driving assignment for trainer Paul Reid and owners Pat Dillon of Port Hope, Ont., Laurie Rooney of Deleon Springs, Fl., Brian Kleinberg of Madison, N.J. and Rick Beinhauer of Venetia, Pa.

On Friday, the pacing fillies will compete in races three and eight while the trotting fillies head postward in races four and six.
