Canada's top percentage trainer Rebecca Kanak improved upon her season's stable score with a big night at Century Downs on Friday, May 1.

Kanak had three win on the 11-race card, starting with claiming pacer Credit Is Magic ($3.50) pulling one out of the hat in the fourth race with Mike Hennessy in the bike. The nine-year-old gelding quickly crossed to command from post seven and earned his first win of the year in 1:57.3, benefitting from a drop in class.

Also driven by Hennessy, six-year-old claiming mare Nonversation ($5.30) overcame a delayed start from the trailing tier and toughed out an uncovered journey to win her ninth race assignment in 1:57.2, improving her seasonal scorecard to 3-2-1 in eight outings for Kanak.

Carving Credit ($7.60) and driver Drew Campbell completed Kanak's training triple in the night cap, fighting off the Hennessy-driven Up The Gun by a neck in 1:56. The four-year-old claimer is just a head shy of a perfect record in Kanak's care.

Trevor Williams of Landmark, Man. owns all three winners, with partners on Nonversation including Tara Isman of Gladstone, Man., Jim Wilson of Regina, Sask., and Richard Remillard of Westbourne, Man.

Kanak, who sent out seven starters in total on Friday, also had a pair of second-place finishes, a third and fourth to bring her UTRS to an impressive 0.450 for the season.

The Saskatoon, Sask. horsewoman pulled ahead in this year's trainer standings at Century Downs, now leading with 11 wins over Brandon Campbell with 10 and Mathew Howlett with eight. Brandon Campbell's wins include a pair from his stable on Friday; he drove four winners in total on the card.
