Team McEneny Wins Horsemen's Hockey Tourney
Team McEneny prevailed in a tight championship game over Team Henry to win the 2026 Horsemen’s Hockey Tournament on Sunday, April 26 at the Cambridge Sports Park in Cambridge, Ont.
Team McEneny’s tournament-winning roster included Kyle Ruhl (goalie), Adam Carter, Aiden Reynolds, Austin McEneny, Bradley Doyle, Cody Ferrier, Keelan Green, Matt Bax, Michael Whelan, Tyler Libby, Johnny McKinnon and Ryan Mahshie.
This year’s tournament featured six teams battling it out with great action from start to finish. Just like on the ice, the turnout off the ice to support the tournament was strong, including a lot of participants for the family skate.
After round-robin and semi-final action, Team McEneny and Team Henry each found their way back to the championship game. The two teams had squared off earlier in the day during pool play with Team Henry winning 5-3.
Team McEneny turned the tables to win the final game 3-2. With the game tied 2-2 halfway through the third period, Austin McEneny scored what would stand as the game winning goal for Team McEneny with 4:27 remaining.

The tournament organizers would like to thank all the players, spectators and sponsors for supporting this year’s tournament. The sponsors for this year’s tournament were the Central Ontario Standardbred Association, Clinton Raceway, London Classic Yearling Sale, Merit Insurance, On The Go Stable, Tackmaster, The Raceway at Western Fair District and Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Plans will be made to host a tournament in 2027.
