Come On Artie Relentless In Western Fair Feature
Come On Artie would not be denied in the $9,200 optional-claiming feature pace on Wednesday, April 22 at The Raceway at the Western Fair District as he persisted off an overland trip to his second victory in his last three starts.
Andy Moore sent him hustling out of post three but dropped him back into third as inside starters All Bets On Red (Tyler Borth) and Kingston Panic (Austin Sorrie) got away first and second, respectively. All Bets On Red cut a :28.4 first quarter and lowered the speed to the half in 1:00, with Come On Artie making the first move off the rail as they neared the halfway point.
Come On Artie shot up to the leader’s wheel on the turn and cut into the advantage down the backstretch, racing eye-to-eye with All Bets On Red at three-quarters in 1:28.4. They duelled stride-for-stride around the final turn, and Come On Artie overpowered his opponent down the stretch and drew off to a 1-3/4-length victory in 1:57.3. Kingston Panic came on for second over All Bets On Red.
Come On Artie doubled his 2026 win tally in his 12th start of the year for trainer Dwayne May and owner-breeder Diane Sylvestre of Sarnia, Ont. The six-year-old son of Artspeak-Machs Affair is 19-for-127 in his career with $175,767 in earnings. He paid $6.80 to win.
