Livingitlarge Massive In Western Fair Preferred

Livingitlarge

Livingitlarge lived on the rim throughout the second half but dug deep to out-finish My Buddy Sam and capture the $12,500 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Monday, April 20.

Lorne House swung the post-three starter into the four-hole as the field entered the first turn while My Buddy Sam (Brady Galliers), left without a seat, drove on to take the lead past the quarter in :29.1. Livingitlarge was out first-up before the field came off the second turn and began encroaching on the leader through the half in :59.2. He reached My Buddy Sam’s flank as they came down the backstretch, forcing the pacesetter to accelerate as they raced to three-quarters in 1:28.3. My Buddy Sam came into the stretch with a lead of a length, but Livingitlarge had more to give and rallied past him to a half-length score in a career-best 1:59.1. Siesta Sandman (Robert Doyle) was third.

Livingitlarge continued his sharp early-season form for House, who trains the gelding and co-owns him with Chantal Ruijs of Georgian Bluffs, Ont. The five-year-old son of Wheeling N Dealin-Prime Time is 3-3-4 from 13 outings in 2026 and 10-for-83 lifetime with earnings of $119,266. He returned $12.10 to win.
