Beau Jangles A Beast Once Again
After an impressive sophomore qualifying debut one week ago, 2025 Horse of the Year Beau Jangles was ever better in his second effort of the season.
Qualifying at Southern Oaks Training Center in Sorrento, Fl. on Friday, April 17, Beau Jangles once again faced off against stablemates Odds On Bullfrog (driven by Dr. Ian Moore) and Prince Hal Hanover (Scott Zeron). One difference to this week's effort, regular pilot Bob McClure back at the controls.
From the inside starting spot, Beau Jangles and McClure made every call a winning one en route to victory in 1:50.4.
Moore told Trot Insider after the qualifier that he was looking for Beau Jangles to qualify in the 1:50 range. McClure told Trot Insider that he was "very pleased" with the mile, saying the colt did it "easy" and that he's "looking forward to the season with him."
Unbeaten in all 12 of his rookie season appearances, Beau Jangles (Cattlewash - Mrs Major Hill) is trained by Moore for owners Graham Grace Stables LLC, Kiwi Stables LLC and Bolton Stables. The first horse to win the Dan Patch Award as Horse of the Year while only competing in Canada, Beau Jangles banked $1,688,750 during his standout season.
His highly-anticipated sophomore season could begin on Saturday, May 9 in the eliminations for the WEG SBOA Stakes at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
