Infinity Stone Dominates In Buffalo Friday Feature
Infinity Stone ($4.16) left no stone unturned and little doubt in anyone's mind in Buffalo Raceway's featured $15,972 conditioned optional claiming trot on Friday afternoon (April 3) with a resounding 10-1/4-length victory over Chapter Twelve in a seasonal best 1:56.3 over the fast track.
Fresh off a 1-3/4-length victory last week, Infinity Stone is sure getting comfortable at his new home at Buffalo Raceway. Competing at Yonkers and Saratoga raceways earlier in the season, Infinity Stone has now won two consecutive races and has cashed cheques in all four appearances locally.
It only took a few strides for Infinity Stone and driver Brett MacDonald to take early control of the race. With Chapter Twelve (Shawn McDonough) and Mister Squeeze (Drew Monti) tagging along in second and third place, respectively, Infinity Stone stomped off splits of :29.3 and :58.4 to the half. But things were about to change in a big way.
Infinity Stone was able to blast away from the field down the backstretch, hitting the three-quarter pole in 1:28 and crossing the line in 1:56.3. The :57.4 back half proved to be downfall to the rest of the field as the Chapter Twelve and Mister Squeeze were able to pick up the pieces for second and third.
The eight-year-old Infinity Stone (Il Sogno Dream-Magic Factory) is trained by David Russo and owned by Caeleo Enterprises of Eden, New York. The win was his third of the season in nine starts and he now has 32 career victories with earnings over $440,000.
For the second straight program, MacDonald picked up four victories while Kyle Cummings had a double. Trainer Tammy Cummings found the winner's circle twice.
Racing will resume on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., with a 10-race program set. There's a $793 carryover in the Pick 5, which begins in the second race.
