Yonkers Raceway has announced a purse increase for all overnight purses starting with the draw for Monday, March 30.

Starting with the draw for Monday, March 30 (entry box closes at 3 p.m. on March 24), all overnight purses will increase at least 10 per cent, with some lower classes getting an increase of more than 15 per cent. 

For example, the purse for $15,000 USD claimers will be bumped from $12,000 USD to $15,000 USD. The top Invitational races will now go for $39,000 USD. 

The purse increase is being made in conjunction with the Standardbred Owners Association of New York (SOANY).

"We always want to do what we can to support our lower-class horses," said Joe Frasure Jr., Race Secretary, on the reason some classes received larger increases.
