Greenleaf Goes Back-To-Back In Flamboro Feature
Greenleaf wired her opponents in the featured $9,500 conditioned trot at Flamboro Downs for the second straight week on Thursday, March 19.
The four-year-old was in front from post seven in a matter of strides and crossed over in front of her rivals as she led into the first turn. She had no opposition while reeling off panels of :28.3, :59.1 and 1:29, and she and pocket-sitter Tencaratgold (Samuel Fillion) had two lengths on the rest passing three-quarters. Tencaratgold slid out to take her shot midway through the final turn, but Greenleaf came into the stretch with a two-length cushion and maintained that to the line to score in 1:59.3. Overend (Brett MacDonald) was third.
Greenleaf took her fourth win of the season in eight starts, and the daughter of Green Manalishi S-Wawona is now nine-for-31 lifetime with $65,436 in the coffers. Pierre-Marc Longpre trains the mare for Ecurie Largo Inc. of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Que. The winner returned $6.30.
