Bruno No No No Romps In Open Debut At Mohawk

Bruno No No No

Bruno No No No opened his four-year-old campaign with a step up to the $30,000 Open 2 Pace level at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday, March 7, and the stallion proved up to the challenge in a dominant victory.

Jabberwocky (Billy Davis Jr.) hit the gas as the wings folded and sprinted to the front on the surface rated good, while Bruno No No No hung wide entering the first turn and followed Lous World (Louis-Philippe Roy) as that opponent pressed to the lead past the quarter in :27.4. Bruno No No No glided to the engine on the backstretch, settling there just before the half in :55.3.

Jack Panic (Travis Henry) moved into striking distance at three-quarters in 1:23.1 and pressured the leader into the lane, but Bruno No No No had plenty in reserve and drew off under wraps to a 3-1/2-length victory in 1:51.2 in his Open-class debut. Jabberwocky rallied up the pylons for second over Lous World.

Bruno No No No was coming off 10 weeks away and making his first start for trainer Dave Menary and owner Pollack Racing LLC of Venetia, Pa. The son of All Bets Off-Winbak Alice won the Harvest Series as a two-year-old and competed in the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Series last year. He is now nine-for-29 lifetime with $145,680 in earnings. The win price was $3.20.
