Oh Look Magic Wins Fourth Straight Miami Valley Open

Oh Look Magic

Oh Look Magic grinded first-up to his fourth consecutive victory in the $49,315 Open Handicap Trot at Miami Valley Raceway on Wednesday, March 4, capping off a training triple for Ron Burke on the 14-race card.

Oh Look Magic floated out from his assigned post seven for Chris Page and dropped in third behind the early battle of Legacy Affair (David Miller) and Adamsville Road (Luke Hanners). Legacy Affair established the lead while Adamsville Road settled in the pocket past an opening quarter of :27.1. The field stayed single file through the half in :56, but as they turned up the backside, Oh Look Magic pulled first-over to begin his charge.

He drew even with Legacy Affair at three quarters in 1:23.4, and the pair battled nose-to-nose around the final turn. Oh Look Magic took a half-length lead over Legacy Affair coming off the last bend as Adamsville Road began to pressure from the outside and Sayinwhatimthinkin (Trevor Smith) slipped up the inside to challenge from fourth. At the wire, it was Oh Look Magic holding off a hard-charging Adamsville Road and Sayinwhatimthinkin by half-length in 1:52.4. Adamsville Road was second over Sayinwhatimthinkin.

Oh Look Magic is five-for-seven on the season for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. North America's leading money-winning horse this season pushed his 2026 earnings to $141,620. The six-year-old Lookslikeachpndale-Miami Magic gelding is 30-for-91 lifetime. He paid $2.60 to win.

Page and Burke combined for two other wins on the program, taking the second race with Prince Of Honor ($2.60) and the fourth with Judge Me Again ($4). Burke once again leads North America in wins, one off 100 for the season, and is winning at a 20 per cent rate.

Page added a fourth win, following up Tuesday's triple with a grand slam. David Miller had three driving wins. Virgil Morgan Jr. tallied a training double.

The final race on the card was declared a no contest due to an accident after the quarter. Hold My Halo, racing third for Josh Sutton, appeared to slip coming off the turn, and he backed into Whiskey Hill, who fell and unseated driver Brett Miller. Satdnite Jukebox (Luke Ebersole), who was sitting fifth, was also involved in the incident but stayed up, as did Hold My Halo. Updates on the horses and drivers involved will be provided when available.

The racing week at Miami Valley will close on Thursday with a post time of 4 p.m.
