Moni Multiplier Dashes For The Cash At Pocono

Moni Multiplier

Moni Multiplier charged from fifth to capture the $21,233 conditioned trotting feature as Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania resumed racing on Tuesday, Feb. 24 after being forced to cancel its scheduled Monday program by the wrath of Mother Nature over the northeast U.S.

On a card in which favourites did well overall, longshots galore got the highest cheques in the feature. The International Moni-Lindy On The Rocks mare Moni Multiplier, second at 61-1 in her 2026 bow, was bet down to 8-1 this week and won in 1:58.4 while defeating Vanguard (25-1), Brother Love (14-1) and Melissa P (39-1), who made up a superfecta that forced a carryover in that pool.

Now 50 per cent in the win column since teaming up with trainer Neal Ehrhart and owners JML Racing LLC, Moni Multiplier was given a patient steer by driver Jim Pantaleano. Sitting second-over, Moni Multiplier was kept in the two-path by Pantaleano on the far bend when favoured Net Weight (Jonathan Ahle) launched wide off her back, but that rival broke stride and the eventual winner found clearance from the blind switch and closed to get the win very late by a neck. Vanguard (Jim Kennedy) was second over Brother Love (Tyler Buter). The four-year-old winner is now three-for-28 lifetime. She paid $19.20 to win.

Tyler Buter, winner of the 2025 dash-winning driving title at Pocono, showed he is still a major danger for this campaign as he visited victory lane five times on the 14-race card. He scored with Mach Silver ($3.40), Zidane Kemp ($6.40), Alwaysbpuffing Ir ($4), Pisces Rising ($7.20) and Points North ($4.60). The haul of five put Buter in the lead in the drivers' standings with 10 local victories this year.

Braxten Boyd, after picking up his Rising Star Award in Florida on Sunday, won three races Tuesday to boost his 2026 Pocono total to six. George Napolitano Jr. and Ridge Warren doubled.

On the training side, defending Pocono kingpin Ron Burke, who took home many trophies at the Sunday Dan Patch awards banquet, had both his Tuesday winners driven by Buter. The other doubling conditioner, Cote Keim, had his victorious charges guided by Buter and George Napolitano Jr.

The excellent early-season racing at Pocono will keep this coming week, with a trio of $27,500 USD contests slated: fast-class events for both trotters and pacers on Saturday, and a handicap contest for distaff pacers on Monday. The next Pocono card will be Saturday at 1 p.m., and in addition to the aforementioned races, it will contain four $17,000 USD divisions of the third and final preliminary leg of the Game Of Claims Pacing Series. No horse base-tagged for $30,000 USD this week was able to post wins in both of the first two legs.
