So Much More Flaunts Back Class In Mohawk Feature

So Much More winning at Woodbine Mohawk Park

Multiple award-winning millionairess So Much More flaunted her back class in the Friday, Feb. 20 feature at Woodbine Mohawk Park, a $26,000 high-end distaff conditioned pace, scoring the first win of her 10-year-old campaign for trainer Don Beatson.

Parked from the outside post eight through a :28.3 opening panel, So Much More marched on and made front into the backstretch for catch-driver Tyler Borth then stole a second quarter breather, reaching the half in :58.4, as Coco Jo Jo (Louis-Philippe Roy) launched a first-over bid from fourth. But So Much More fought off that rival as they raced past three-quarters in 1:27.3 into the stretch and won by a measured half-length in 1:54.3 over the "good" track. A resurgent Coco Jo Jo finished second with La Miki N (Jody Jamieson) nabbing third place off her cover.

Let go at odds of 11-1, 79-time career winner So Much More returned $24.90 to her faithful followers. The Big Jim-Ladysai mare, who has picked up cheques in her first four starts of the year, is coming off her seventh straight six-figure season and now boasts lifetime earnings of nearly $1.85 million.

Beatson co-owns the three-time O'Brien Award winner with his son Kenn Beatson and grandson Cole England.
