Wrenn Surpasses 9,000 Wins With Thursday Six-Pack
Driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr. reached the 9,000-win milestone at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows on Thursday, Feb. 5 amid a six-win performance on the 13-race card.
The 39-year-old reinsman entered the day with 8,997 victories and won two of the first four races on the card, piloting Trsshining Star ($2.40) and Big Wish ($3.20) to victory. In the sixth race, Wrenn sent trotter Green Meadow ($5.40) to the front past the quarter, and the five-year-old son of Greenshoe-Christiana Hanover held on for a narrow victory in 1:58.2 to give Wrenn his 9,000th win. Justin Mullett trains Green Meadow for owners Courtney Gramlich and Gabriel Miller. Wrenn then scored victories behind Kashed Up A ($7.20), Channing ($8.40) and Talbotcreekwhiskey ($7.80).
With his haul of six on the day, Wrenn now sits at 9,003 wins in 38,995 career drives. He won two of nine starts in his debut season in 2008, and six years later he had a career-best 847 wins in his 2014 campaign. The Michigan native has won more than 500 races per year every season since 2013.
Racing will be back at The Meadows on Friday with a 14-race card slated for a 12:45 p.m. start.
