Super Chapter To Race In 2026
The connections of Super Chapter have reported that the 2025 Dan Patch Award divisional winner will be returning to the Marcus Melander stable to begin training for his 2026 racing season.
A career winner of $2.4 million, the world champion son of Chapter Seven and Lifetime Pursuit had been retired at the end of his three-year-old award-winning season in 2025 and was headed to stand stud in Pennsylvania at Hanover Shoe Farms pending fertility testing. Those plans for Super Chapter have changed for now.
“An exacting, two-phase breeding soundness exam was performed, and Super Chapter scored well on every measure except morphology,” said Russell Williams, Hanover Shoe Farms President. “A percentage of his sperm cells are the type produced by younger colts.
“We did see an improvement between test phases,” added Williams. “To confirm our view that Super Chapter needs time to mature, we test bred him to one of our retired mares. She is in foal at 14 days.”
“We have the highest expectations for Super Chapter’s four-year-old racing season,” said Jeff Snyder, co-owner with Arthur Pronti. “He’s sound and in great condition. Marcus can’t wait to get him back.”
All of Super Chapter’s connections are grateful for the tremendous interest shown in him and shall return to the subject of his breeding career when he has acquired an even stronger racing resume and had time to mature.
