Driver Travis Henry teamed up with trainer Mark Etsell to take both featured conditioned trots on Monday, Jan. 26 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, delivering double-digit win prices with both Devastate and Manoah.

In the $24,000 fifth race, which featured 10 trotters who were non-winners of five or in for an $80,000 tag, Henry and Devastate left from post seven at 5-1. Henry wasted no time getting Devastate to the point, crossing over against the cones on the engine before reaching the quarter in :28.2. Devastate had the 6-5 favourite, Sunday Shoes (Doug McNair), in the pocket as the two raced well clear of the rest to the half in :57.1, and then to three-quarters in 1:25.3.

Sunday Shoes began to gap Devastate at the head of the lane, with the leader beginning to widen the margin. Devastate coasted home a dominant winner from there, winning by 3-1/4 lengths in 1:55.4 while Chic Choc Rose (James MacDonald) got by Sunday Shoes late for second.

After missing nearly the entirety of 2025, Devastate has won half of his four outings in 2026 for owners Frank Lamacchia of St. George, Ont., Tony Miceli and Deanmar Sons Stable of Mississauga, Ont., and Peter Miskolczi of Brampton, Ont. The five-year-old Chapter Seven-Susy stallion has won seven of 23 lifetime, banking $93,119. Devastate returned $12.20 to win for his backers at the windows.

Henry and Etsell came back in the $26,000 ninth race for trotters who were non-winners of $24,000 in the last eight with the 7-1 Manoah (pictured above) winning in similar front-end fashion.

Manoah blasted off the wings from post seven in the field of nine, quickly asserting himself as a loose 2-3/4-length leader at the quarter in :28.3. Manoah charged to the half in :57.4, extending his lead to four lengths at three-quarters in 1:26.4 while Devils Arch (J.R. Plante) raced to the inside of Ghostly Casper (Doug McNair) in second.

The pair battling for second began to close in on the leader as Manoah's lead started to shrink in the stretch. A two-pronged attack, Devils Arch moved to the inside and Ghostly Casper to his outside with Manoah bracing for the challenge in deep stretch. Manoah held serve to reach the wire first, a half-length in front of Devils Arch and three-quarters of a length better than Ghostly Casper to trip the timer in 1:55.1.

A winner in four of his last six outings, Manoah is also owned by Frank Lamacchia, Tony Miceli and Deanmar Sons Stable in addition to Gennarino Lamacchia of St. George, Ont. The four-year-old Greenshoe-Southwind Sauna stallion has won eight of 31 lifetime, good for career earnings of $158,068. Manoah returned $16.70 to win for his supporters.
