Fashion Frenzie Returns To Action
Being a millionaire certainly has its perks, just ask multiple O'Brien Award winner Fashion Frenzie.
Named the best in his division both as a three-year-old (2021) and an older horse (2022), Fashion Frenzie made his return to action during a blustery qualifying session on Friday, Jan. 23 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Four months since his last on-track appearance, Fashion Frenzie faced just one opponent during his return test with three of the scheduled participants choosing not to race.
As expected, Fashion Frenzie frolicked on the front end during his pseudo match race with nine-start and one-win trotter Numero Dix not providing much in the way of stiff competition. The accomplished Fashion Frenzie had things his own way for driver Louis-Philippe Roy, cruising to comfortable 2:01.3 victory. Roy sat motionless turning for home — possibly partially frozen with a headwind in the stretch and the -14°C temperatures — but Fashion Frenzie had his ears up across the wire like it was a pleasant walk in the park.
Eric Nadeau trains Fashion Frenzie for Quebec-based Ecurie Francis Richard Inc., Pierre Guillemette and Sylvain Richard of Becancour along with Gestion Mario Bourgea Inc. of Stanbridge-East. Now eight, Fashion Frenzie (Archangle - Striking Fashion) sports 32 career wins with more than $1.45 million in earnings and a mark of 1:50.2 taken at Mohawk last year at the age of seven.
