Muskateer Hanover Threepeats In Dover Open

Muskateer Hanover

Muskateer Hanover went wire-to-wire for his third straight win in the $34,722 Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Thursday, Jan. 15.

Muskateer Hanover fired off the wings to take command early over Dale Yeah (Tony Morgan), who landed in the pocket, and the remaining pacers grabbed seats approaching the first turn. The leader put up early fractions of :27.1 and :55.2 unopposed until Stevens Saloon (Jason Thompson) moved to the outside up the backstretch and grinded first-over into the chilly Dover air.

Muskateer Hanover and the parked-out Stevens Saloon threw down to the three quarters in 1:22.4, but at the top of the stretch, Muskateer Hanover took a solid lead and held it to the wire to win by a half-length in 1:51. Dale Yeah remained in the pocket and took second over Stevens Saloon.

Muskateer Hanover is perfect in three Open starts this year for trainer Jason Johnson and owners Mulligan Stables and Calcutta Stable LLC. The six-year-old son of Sweet Lou-Marinade Hanover is now 22-for-84 lifetime. He paid $7.40 for the win

Tim Tetrick won five races on the 13-race card, tallying with Kimble A ($4.20), Somelousomewhere ($3.60), Perfect Wager ($14.60), Renaissance Deo ($5.60), and Pretty Lou ($8.20). The Hall of Fame reinsman has a 28.8 percent win rate so far this season with 21 wins in 73 starts.
