Claude Duhaime Passes

In loving memory of Claude Duhaime

Longtime harness racing participant Claude Duhaime of Victoriaville, Que. passed away suddenly while pursuing his passion for horses on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at the age of 89.

Mr. Claude Duhaime is survived by his wife, Denise Dumas Duhaime, and his children, Michel (Nicole Vigneault), Sylvie (René Simoneau), France and Steve (Mireille Gagnon). He was also the father of the late Guy.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jessica Duhaime (Jotham Fortin), Maxim Poirier (Jessica Brouillette) and Justine Duhaime, and his great-grandchildren, Jade, Jacob, Chelsea and Allyson.

He was the brother of the late Ronald (Lise Poirier), the late Rosaire (Véronique Nolin), Florence (André Cérutti), Gilles (the late Cécile Lortie), Réjean (Liette Boucher), Pierrette (Jacques Perreault), Raymond (the late Céline Mailhot), Gisèle (Pierre-Albert Dion), Gabrielle, Carmen (the late Gilles Savard), Jacinthe and Esther (Yves Tardif); and of the Dumas family, the brother-in-law of the late Monique (the late Guy Beaudoin), the late Raymond and Louise.

He is also survived by nephews and nieces, as well as other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, the day of the funeral, from 9 a.m., at the Grégoire & Desrochers Funeral Complex, located at 1300 Notre-Dame East in Victoriaville, Que. The funeral will be held on Monday at 11 a.m., at Saint-Christophe-d'Arthabaska Church.  

Expressions of sympathy can be shown through a donation to the À notre santé Foundation of the Hôtel-Dieu d'Arthabaska Hospital or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Forms are available on the funeral home's website.
