Perfect Rendition Matches Yonkers Mark
Perfect Rendition blew away the competition and into Yonkers Raceway's record books Thursday night. His 1:54.3 effort matched the fastest-ever local trot mile
.
Leaving from post position two in the $15,500 eighth race, Perfect Rendition took no prisoners for driver Larry Stalbaum. He threw down fractions of :28, :56.1 and 1:25, opening seven lengths turning for home. The final margin - over For You Almostfree (Dan Dube) - was 6-1/4 lengths, with KLM Express (Jim Marshall III) third.
For Perfect Rendition, a six-year-old gelded son of Perfectly owned by Eric Prevost and trained by Kim Asher, he returned $5.90 as the wagering favourite. It was his second win in four seasonal starts, the other an open-length 1:54 effort at Pocono late last month.
Perfect Rendition is now one-half of Yonkers' swiftest trotting tandem, matching Shutter Boy (Yannick Gingras) from October, 2009. Perfect Rendition also set the local record for aged geldings, a tick faster than the Stalbaum-driven Rookie Mistake from this past Friday night.
