Woodbine Mohawk Park and The Raceway at Western Fair District have cancelled their Monday, Dec. 29 harness racing programs due to continued snow squall and blizzard conditions throughout the day in Southwestern Ontario.

"With high winds, snow and icy conditions continuing, the decision to cancel Monday evening’s card was made in the best interest of safety for all participants and staff," stressed a statement from Woodbine on the unsafe racing conditions caused by the current winter storm.

Live harness racing is scheduled to resume at The Raceway on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 5:50 p.m., followed by the New Year’s Eve program this Wednesday, Dec. 31 with a special 6:30 p.m. first post.

Mohawk's next scheduled harness racing program is Friday, Jan. 2 with a new post time of 6:15 p.m.
