The cold temperatures are here and nothing warms you up better than a hearty bowl of chili, so it is the perfect time for the Meadowlands Racetrack’s annual Winter Chili Cook-Off!

Our Saturday, Jan. 17, Chili Cook-Off is open to cooks of all ages and has more than $3,000 USD in prizes up for grabs in this year’s competition. The cook-off categories and prizes are listed below.

Homestyle Chili:
$500 USD – Grand Prize
$250 USD – 2nd Place
$100 USD – 3rd Place

Red Chili:
$500 USD – Grand Prize
$250 USD – 2nd Place
$100 USD – 3rd Place

People’s Choice Chili:
$250 USD – Grand Prize

Best Booth:
$250 USD – Grand Prize

Salsa: (must be home-made, no store-bought salsa allowed) 
$500 USD – Grand Prize
$250 USD – 2nd Place
$100 USD – 3rd Place

Registration is available on the Meadowlands Racetrack website at playmeadowlands.com.

Racetrack guests can join the lively atmosphere by sampling delicious chili and voting for their favourite to win the People’s Choice title, with a $250 USD prize! Voting begins at 7 p.m.

Live harness racing starts at 6:20 p.m.
