Michel Damphousse Passes

In loving memory of Michel Damphousse

Longtime harness racing industry participant Michel Damphousse of Sainte-Ursule, Que. passed away on Nov. 25, 2025 at the age of 81.

Damphousse owned a number of Standardbreds over the years, including 2007 Coupe des Eleveurs winner Canaco Runner.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the I. Gagnon & Son Funeral Home, 111 Saint-Louis Street, Sainte-Ursule, on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, starting at 1 p.m. A celebration of life will be held the same day at 3:30 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date in the Sainte-Ursule Cemetery.

He is survived by his children: Mélanie Damphousse, Simon Damphousse; his grandchildren: Reno, Simon-Alexandre, Léa-Rose, Sarah-Kim; his brothers and sisters: the late Paulin (Francine Lessard), Nicole (the late Germain Gagnon), Diane (Marcel Gagnon), Jean (Sylvie Grenier), the late Normand (Louise Baribeau (Michel Devault)), Suzanne, Pierre, Martin (Christine Durand); as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family warmly thanks the staff of Wing 5 of the Avellin-Dalcourt Centre for their support and excellent care. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
