The driver-trainer team of Chris Page and Ron Burke was red-hot on a cold night at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway, racking up five victories on the Tuesday, Dec. 2 card.

The duo's highlight came in the $25,000 conditioned claiming trot, when Hilltop Sonar used a patient Page steer and recorded his eighth career win in 29 starts.

Second-choice Big Boys Edge (Austin Hanners) broke stride before the start, allowing Hilltop Sonar to strike first, but he yielded as Massive Desire (Brett Miller) strode forward to take over from post six and led the field past the opening quarter in :27.4. Massive Desire went unopposed through middle splits of :57.3 and 1:25.2 before Hilltop Sonar swung out past the third station. Massive Desire and Hilltop Sonar matched strides in the lane, and the latter wore down the pacesetter to score by three-quarters of a length in 1:54. Aunt Lilly (Luke Hanners) was third.

Hilltop Sonar, a sophomore son of What The Hill-Mariah De Vie, is owned by the partnership of Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Beasty LLC and Rich Lombardo Racing. He paid $2.60 to win.

The Page-Burke connection also won with Brink Street ($4.80), Shoot Some Hoop ($7.40), Whatchagonnado ($3.60), and Bravo Hill ($5.80). The five-win evening extended Burke's lead atop the Dayton standings to 11 over Steve Carter. He has accrued 42 wins at the track this year.

Page also scored with the Ed Konrad-trained Jewell Said ($3.40) and Jared Seekman's Tellme U R Mydate ($3) as part of a seven-win performance on the 14-race card. The reinsman is in the midst of a personal-best season, now with 547 victories and more than $11.8 million in earnings. He heads the Dayton leaderboard with 120 wins, 31 more than second-placed Tyler Smith.

The night’s biggest upset was delivered by Naked Barry and Kayne Kauffman in a $13,889 conditioned claiming pace.

Kauffman timed the gate with Naked Barry and protected his inside position to secure the lead out of a three-wide scramble in a :27.3 quarter. Prince Of Terror (David Miller) was then forced to advance from three-wide and took the front before the half in :56.2. The bettors' choice, Lather Up Athens (Trevor Smith), was first-up and pressuring the leader at the three-quarters in 1:25. Kauffman had the opportunity to wait for the passing lane but elected to move to the outside, and Naked Barry sprinted past Prince Of Terror to win in a lifetime-best 1:54.4. Prince Of Terror was 1-3/4 lengths back, and a fast-closing Granite Ridge Lady (Brett Miller) was third.

Naked Barry tallied his second lifetime win in 35 outings for owners Golden Goose Stables and Mike Polhamus. Polhamus trains the sophomore son of Western Terror-Felicity Cam. The gelding paid $58.40 to win.
