Soaring Now Sets Sail In Qualifying Return

Soaring Now

Soaring Now established himself as a top class competitor this past summer at Woodbine Mohawk Park, but the six-year-old pacer now appears poised to compete with the nation's best over the upcoming winter months.

Last in action this past July, Soaring Now returned to the racetrack during the qualifying session on Saturday, Nov. 29 at Mohawk and looked good doing it. Driver Louis-Philippe Roy sent the speedster to the front end in his morning test, and Soaring Now lived up to his  name from there. After fractions of :29, :58.1 and 1:27, Soaring Now scooted home in :27.4 under the sub-zero conditions to win by nearly three lengths in 1:54.4. Joe Dimagio (Daryl Thiessen) and Blazing Cruiser (Jody Jamieson) completed the top trio.

Victor Puddy trains Soaring Now for Howmac Farms Ltd., of Brookfield, P.E.I., Gordon McDonald of Ottawa, Ont. Christopher Boland of St. Johns, N.L. and Limco Inc. of Chateauguay, Que. The son of JK Endofanera - Sunflower boasts 25 career victories and $682,136 along with a mark of 1:47.4 taken this past May.
