Grand Circuit stakes-winning trotter King Alphonso will stand stud in 2026.

As Michigan continues its efforts to restore a robust racing and breeding industry, King Alphonso 2, 1:52 ($421,127) will join the stallion lineup at Snow Ridge Farm for the 2026 breeding season.

Trained by Ake Svanstedt during his freshman season in 2019, King Alphonso won a division of the International Stallion Stakes in 1:52, missing Walner’s world record at the time by just two-fifths of a second. He defeated future double millionaire Its Academic in the process. King Alphonso also won a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes division. He went on to become an Open trotter in Pennsylvania and put together a career record reading 19-14-13 from 84 starts.

The eight-year-old son of Muscle Hill is out of the $4.2 million producing dam Amour Heiress, a daughter of Cantab Hall. King Alphonso is a full brother to Maple Leaf Trot champion Periculum 6,1:49.3 ($2,746,666). His impressive pedigree also includes Hambletonian winner Trixton 3,1:50.3 ($968,696) and Hall of Fame mare Amour Angus, the dam of three top trotting sires in North America following successful race careers, Andover Hall, Angus Hall and Conway Hall.

King Alphonso will stand his inaugural season in Michigan for a $4,000 USD stud fee.
